Lavon & Carolyn Waters
BBFI Missionaries to SPAIN since 1958
June, 2009
Dear Friends:
Lord willing, on June 18th our grand-daughter,
Sandy Loveday, will
be arriving in Spain as a missionary. She will be working with us
and Pastor Torres in the Guadalajara church. The Lord has blessed
her and even though she needs more support, she feels the urgency to
be here for the summer to help out. Please pray for her trip and
also for all the details as she gets settled here into the work.
The beginning of summer camps is only one month away. The Lord has
helped us with the projects and reforms we have done. The boy’s
bathroom is almost finished including a new septic tank. We hope
this new bathroom will last for 25 more years like the old one did.
We travelled down to the Mediterranean coast this past month to be
in one of the churches there. They are hoping to begin to use the
faith-promise plan in a few months and we were privileged to present
it. Also Carolyn and I were in charge of the lessons in a combined
youth meeting there with three churches. We each taught a lesson on
purity to the guys and girls.
Please continue to pray for Carolyn. Her kidney function has
decreased once again and is now down to 13%. The doctor said it is
time to begin preparation for dialysis which will probably take
place around the end of summer. She has an appointment the end of
June to place the fistula in her arm to receive the hemodialysis
treatments. This is minor surgery and needs to be in place at least
6 weeks before dialysis starts. We are confident that the Lord will
give grace and help through it all as we continue to serve Him here
in Spain.
We appreciate all the anniversary cards (June 7 - 54 years) and the
birthday cards for Carolyn. The weak dollar is again making news and
of course this affects our ministry. Thank you so much for your
faithful support even in this time of crisis. We know it is not easy
for you.
In Christ, Lavon and Carolyn,
