Dear Friends:

We finished up our first week of summer camps this past Saturday, July 10. We are happy to report that 7 boys and girls made a public profession of faith in the Lord.  These are children ages 7-9. There were a total of 73 present for the week. We  experienced a tremendous heat wave all week and are hoping for a little cooler weather next week for junior camp ages 10-13. There will be around 100 people.  We were unable to put the new insulated roofs on the cabins before the beginning of the first camp. The provincial government kept asking for more papers, so the work is being done this week in between camps. As we mentioned before, the problem with the present roofs is not only the heat they generate, but the fact that they contain asbestos which is now illegal and has to be disposed of by professionals.  The cost is high but we feel we are doing what is best.

       

Bro. Angel Torres, (pastor of the Guadalajara church) and his wife directed the first week of camp. This was their first time to be fully in charge and it is a blessiing to see how God is raising up a new generation of leaders. Angel was one year old when we bought the camp property! No doubt one day many of the children who were there this past week will be counselors and teachers in the coming years. We know God will prosper His work.

Please continue to pray for Carolyn. She was able to be at camp even though her work load is a lot lighter. Her calcium is still having ups and downs and her doctors feel it will just take time for everything to regulate itself. Your prayers and financial help are such an important part of our ministry.
