Dear Friends,
The short furlough that my wife and I took at the end of October and the
beginning of November was refreshing. We reconnected with the churches
that we visited as well as making some new friends. It was successful in
the sense that there were souls saved and several rededications. I had
the opportunity to preach in the churches and to present Belgium, in all
the churches that we visited. For the last twenty years or so Jean has
stayed home to take care of the kids. We have an empty nest now and she
traveled with me. I was really glad that we could travel together.
Prayerfully, the promises and intentions that were stated for new
support will come through. It is a necessary part of mission work that
we try to pick up new support. The shrinking value of the dollar and the
rise in the cost of living pinches in on us to the point that we are
hurting financially. I am grateful to the churches that give
sacrificially so that we might continue to minister in Belgium.
Our thanksgiving service
was great. Usually I ask people to prepare ahead of time so that I have
a few ready to give a testimony. This year I told them that I was not
going to ask them personally. The response was amazing. People were
giving testimonies all over the place and mostly without prompting or
pleading to participate in the program. It was like popcorn. This was a
first for our people I normally beg and plead with them to participate.
We had several visitors and they participated in the services.
I have a lot of prayer
requests for this letter. Pray for Alita, Elonga and Alina, they need to
be saved. Pray for our Christmas service Dec 23. Then the 30th we are
planning a down day to just relax have services but the in the afternoon
we are going to play games and fellowship.. We have invited the
neighborhood. I have encouraged our people to do the same. Pray for the
exchange rate. The dollar is up and down, but it is down more than it is
up.
Thank you!
