Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that summer has past so quickly. It has not been
overly warm or hot in Belgium this summer. I guess here the global
warming has not been very effective. I have built fires in the fire
place during the summer which I have never had to do before this summer.
Summer was busy. We had a
baptism in July and baptized two adults. They have been very faithful.
Nadia and Jimmy have been following a discipleship program. They are
excited about the Lord and have been inviting people to church every
week. I do a Bible study in their home and they often have guests for
the Bible study. One of the other men of the church said that the
excitement that radiates from them is contagious. Pray for Alita, Leanna
and Umbanga, they are members of Jimmy’s and Nadia’s immediate family.
Camp was eventful. We
combined the junior and senior camp together this summer. While the
benefits of doing the camps in one week are good, the work is doubled
and the workers are exhausted. We had eight saved this year! What a
blessing it was to see God working in lives and hearts. I was not in
charge of junior camp this year! I was thrilled for I thought that I
could slack off a little and do a little less. Since I was not in charge
of junior camp, I did errands for camp and got slotted into all sorts of
games and tournaments to referee. Wow, what a great week of camp we had.
Deborah and Jean left in
August to take Deborah to college. I have to say that I was extremely
proud of Deborah. She is taking the missions course at BBC and wants to
be used as a missionary. God worked in her heart during camp! God gave
her job this summer where she earned the funds necessary to start her
first semester. God has provided her with a job in the cafeteria there
at the school for which we are grateful. I spent a month as bachelor.
Please keep her in your prayers also.
Pray for the exchange
rate. The Dollar is hitting new lows against the Euro.
