James' Testimony
September 2007
Dear Pastor and Friends,
I was raised in church,
and went to a Christian school. I was saved July 1, 2000 while on a
mission’s trip in Virginia. The Lord had dealt with my heart about
my need for salvation earlier that year, but I put it off. I knew I
needed to be saved, I knew I was a sinner, and I felt the Lord
squeezing my heart, as I squeezed the pew. I finally let go and
followed God, repented of my sins and received Jesus as my personal
Savior.
Ever since then I have
longed for God’s will in my life and have sought to be faithful to
Him. I have found that in order to be faithful you have to have
faith. I know I am not able to accomplish anything on my own.
However, if I follow God, He is able to do great and mighty works
through me. While in High School I worked on the buses faithfully
and saw how Jesus transformed the lives of these young people. I had
a desire to go to Greece
My dad had visited the
Dimakos in Greece and then I met Cristina while she and her family
were on furlough. We talked online for the next 2 years, and I
became more familiar with the ministry there through her stories and
sharing what was happening there in the work. God began to burden my
heart for Greece, and in 2004, I spent a year working with the
Dimakos. During that time, I assisted Mr. Dimakos in evangelizing,
visitation, and Bible studies. I also took basic language classes,
which equipped me with a basic knowledge of Modern Greek. I came to
BBC with the intentions of returning to Greece once I had completed
my education.
Cristina and I got
married in our second year, and due to a special event, my wife is
pregnant, we would be set back a year. Instead, the Lord opened the
door for my wife and I to return to Greece and finish our education
on the field. As short term missionaries, we are making a 3 year
commitment. We will be able to complete our degrees and fulfill our
internship requirements for when we return to be approved as full
time missionaries.
Sincerely,
James Sinde
