December 2009 - January 2010
Dearest Prayer Partners,
The title of our Christmas program was “Proclaiming Christmas”.
Praise the Lord we had a good turn out and many new people heard
the gospel for the first time. We handed out 5000 invitations in
the neighborhood for the Christmas program but none of our
visitors came from those invitations. We continue to pray that
God will bring to our church the people that he wants.
After 8 years of being in the States, I was able to spend
Christmas with my family. One of the special things we got to do
as a family was talk over the internet with my sister and
brother in law in Ethiopia. Praise the Lord for modern day
technology even though we were not all together we felt as if we
were. I got to spend a week with my parents in Madrid and
brought in the New Year at their church with a dinner and a time
of prayer.
The 5th of January a man
in our church was taken to the hospital after falling off of
scaffolding. He had split open his head and the doctors operated
on him that night. He was in ICU for 2 weeks in an induced coma
because the doctor had given up hope. Due to this event, our
church and mainly our teens have seen the power of prayer and
started to fervently pray for Bro. Edy. As the days went by they
started to wean him off his medicine and he started to wake up.
One day we received word that he was in a chair sitting up and
looking around. The doctors and nurses at the hospital call him
the “walking miracle” as he should be dead. Today, exactly a
month after his accident they are sending him home. Only God can
work a miracle in Edy like he has done. He is our “walking
miracle” and we pray that God uses him in a mighty way to
witness to his unsaved family back in Ecuador. He has some
facial paralysis and will be going to physical therapy for a
while but we praise the Lord that he’s home.
I ask that you
continue to pray for my grandma as she is doing well and has
still not started her dialysis. Her surgery for her parathyroid
removal is still not scheduled. We are still waiting on a bone
density test first to see if she even needs her parathyroid
removed. Also this month I had a small accident. Both vehicles
involved suffered little to no damage although my neck was
turned when I hit the car and due to that my neck and back are
still hurting from the accident. I would also appreciate your
prayers as my very "old" car is giving me problems and I use it
a lot in my different ministries.
There are several
families in our church that are struggling due to family
problems. I ask that you pray for 3 families and their children.
The Pastor’s father in law father has only been given 2-6 months
to live due to a long term illness. Please pray for Mari Mar
(Pastor’s wife) and her family. Continue to pray for the
different ministries that I am part of and that I can have good
health to be able to carry out each and every ministry.
Praying the Lord will
bless all of you greatly in 2010 and that no matter what God may
have in store for the New Year that God would be the center of
our lives. Thank you for your continued support and
encouragement.
