Dear Friends,

We are a week and a half away from going back to the States for a quick two-month furlough. We are looking forward to seeing our family again as well as being able to see many friends from supporting churches. This is the second brief furlough in our ministry, and it’s different from the first in that there are so many things that we are going to miss while being away from Poland.

Over the last two months we have conducted a couple of outreaches in our community. Although we haven’t seen any direct, visible results of those efforts yet, we are praying that God will continue to lead us to those who are open to the message of the gospel. Three weeks ago we also held our second baptismal service and are thankful for the obedience of those young Christians who willingly follow the Lord in baptism. We especially ask your prayers for a young man named Szymon, who was just baptized. Szymon is 26 years old and is engaged to be married to a Christian lady in our church. He has a tremendous desire to serve the Lord and is really growing spiritually. Please pray that the Lord will greatly use him in the church, as good male leadership is often very difficult to find here in Poland.

We also ask your prayers for our ministry for the two months we will be gone. We are very thankful to Pastor Jack Berg and his wife who will be filling in for us, teaching, preaching, and encouraging our people while we are gone. We are also thankful to have a good group of people, both men and women, in our church who have volunteered to take on extra responsibilities during our absence. In the long run we are praying that this time we are away will be a good chance for our church members to take an even greater role in leadership and bring us one step closer to being a self-supporting, indigenous church.

We thank you so much for your prayers and support of this ministry here in Warsaw. Please pray that this upcoming time of furlough will be both productive for our ministry, as we really need to see our support level go up slightly, and refreshing for us as a family. We look forward to seeing many of you soon.

Co-Laborers for Christ,
