Dear Friends:

We are now midway through our furlough. We started July by babysitting two of our grandchildren while their parents took teens to camp. What fun! We took Sonny and Karina to the 4th of July Parade in Marshfield. Ate corndogs, kettle com and had snow cones ... things parents never approve of, but grandparents cheerfully allow!

We made a trip to Texas to report to churches there and then went on to Charleston, South Carolina where Gail and I spoke at a Baptist History Celebration. Gail spoke on Women in Baptist History and I shared the influence of Baptists on the history of the Cherokee People. From there we went back to Atlanta to visit with our grandson, Ben, and then traveled to Arkansas for the Missionary Retreat and spent several days with other missionaries and the Fellowship Directors enjoying the heat of August!

Our next stop was Pleasant Hill Methodist Church where Gail grew up. It is always a joy to go and visit with the folks there!

We ended up the month with a visit from my mother to celebrate her birthday. All in all it has been a very busy two months with lots of travel, lots of new faces, and also lots of wonderful memories!

In England, they had a very productive camp season with over 20 saved in youth camps and another 30 in other ministries! We praise the Lord for the work of the missionaries on the field. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. We all truly believe the Lord is opening the hearts of the British people as never before and a concerted effort is being made to reach the young people during this time.

Yours in His Service,

Tom and Gail Gritts
