| November – December 2009
Dear Friends,
These
past two months have been full of events, seminars, and
planning. Nearly 50 missionaries came together at the White
House for a Thanksgiving Celebration in November and that
same weekend we worked with Bro Liles as he hosted a
Reformission Seminar. The goal was to encourage the
missionaries and pastors to increase their vision for church
planting here in the UK. Pray with us to this end. England
is more open now to the gospel than ever before. I truly
believe that a new wave of church planting is just what we
need and new missionaries are on their way.
Though more missionaries
can be vital, our real goal is getting the Brits into church
planting. Pray they will not only see the need, but also
have the zeal and sacrifice necessary to move toward the
goal. We want to see 20 church planted before we retire and
we won’t be able to do this alone!
December found us
planning Christmas events and our Dead Serious Saturday that
was held on January 2nd. Dead Serious Saturday was a youth
event for the churches here in the UK. Our teens did the
planning and worked hard to make the event a success. We had
70 young people attend. The day was filled with games and
activities and three dead serious sermons: one on salvation,
one on keeping your testimony and one on service. Mixed with
this they had two times of devotions, which were led by the
young adults. It was so great to see that we now have enough
young adults equipped to lead the teens into God’s Word.
Kingsmead Baptist Church
and Hope Baptist Church have held baptismal services at
Temple. It is wonderful to see our baby church growing.
Another baptismal for Kingsmead
is set for January 10th and Temple will be baptizing as
well, praise the Lord!
In His Service,
Tom and Gail Grittss
