Having met in a youth group in Phoenix, Arizona at seventeen years of age, we married after our first year in Bible school (1977).
The challenge is how to balance establishing a family along with immersion into the national culture. Part of our strategy has been to "salt" in our society, meaning that while retaining biblical values we have attempted to live like our neighbors. Our residence is small by stateside standards (900 square feet - one bath), but standard in our area. Our three children, two of which were born in Germany, attended local public schools for their entire education. In the meantime our children are grown, yet remain close to Christ and have chosen to stay in Germany.
Our oldest, Denton, has married and finished Bible School with the desire to plant churches in Germany. They come on staff to plant a daughter church via our church this fall.
Lisa seeks placement in a midwife school north of Frankfurt this fall.
Our youngest, Robert, is finishing work-related junior college in 2006. His training field is internet technology.
All three are actively serving Christ.
