Dear Pastor and Friends,

         The month of August was HOT. Hot with heat waves of 120 degrees with very strong winds. Hot with fires all over Greece: The worst ecological disaster in the history of Greece, which left 1500 homeless families, 75 dead, and 1.890 million acres of burnt land. Hot with controversy: Many of the fires were started on purpose; some say that it was to create more building land, while others were to cause political chaos before the elections. The right wing party won the elections, and the left wing party is at risk of splitting in three due to their tactics and failure. The sad thing about all of this is that in spite of the devastation, people’s hearts remained cold as we went out to pass out the Word of God and people were rejecting it.
          The month of September was a blessing. I preached a Missions Conference for the English speaking Bible Baptist Church here in Athens and they doubled their Missions giving. We praise the Lord that people responded to the need to reach others with the Gospel. I had another 20,000 tracts printed. Already a retired American Greek couple responded to one of our tracts. Please pray that God will touch their hearts. While Izzat was at the hospital having surgery, we had the opportunity to give out two Bibles to other patients. Daniel, another patient, listened intently to what we shared with him, and now that he is out, he has contacted us to follow up. Please pray for these blessed souls, that the Holy Spirit will convict them and they should seek the Lord for salvation.
