June 2006
“…Rejoice
with them that rejoice and weep with them that weep…” We often say,
“Prayer changes things.” I want to testify that we couldn’t have
made it without God’s grace, without your prayers, your love, and
your support in the past two months. As we concluded our Missions
Conferences in the end of April in Florida, we were heading to
Louisiana to get my Doctorate of Philosophy degree from LBU. It was
an exciting event, as it took me 10 years to conclude the work while
doing mission work. PRAISE THE LORD.
That night I was awaken by my wife’s voice, speaking Greek. It took
me a while to realize, she was on the phone at 2 A.M, and then I
heard the most unwelcome words, “Mama just died.” I stood there
stunned in unbelief and then I began to weep and grieve, while
getting ready for the longest 1200 miles of tears on I-95 toward NY.
In the midst of tears and heavy sorrow, God gave us comfort and
reassurance that mom is now in heaven. A powerful message of the
gospel was delivered at the funeral to over 250 Greek relatives and
friends. PRAISE THE LORD!

We returned to Springfield just in time to attend graduation at CSOS.
We had the privilege to see our youngest son, Timothy, walk the line
with an Academic gold cord and honors in Spanish. Tim will be
attending BBC in the Fall. PRAISE THE LORD!
In spite of the sorrow, there was a wedding in progress, relatives
already with tickets to flew to Springfield, so we proceeded to
prepare for my daughter’s wedding that was scheduled for June 10th.
We had to make
arrangements,
as people came from Portugal and Greece, and New York, Pennsylvania,
Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and
California. Finally the day came and God blessed, as family and
friends shared that joyous occasion with Cristina and James.
Yes, it was a Big, Fat, Greek-Baptist Wedding, and the gospel was
preached and heard by our unsaved family members, PRAISE THE LORD!
Please continue to pray for our children and pray for us as we will
be leaving, “empty nesters,” on October 30th. Pray for Poli and
Jane, she is due October 11th with our first grandbaby. Pray for my
eyes and my last tests on the macular degeneration in N.Y. before we
leave.
Please pray that God will supply our every need for our return to
Greece. We would like to purchase a Printing machine for we
distribute over a half a million tracts every year. Please pray for
our people in Greece to remain strong in the Lord.
Pray for us, as we plan to fervently evangelize Greeks in every
major city in Greece, while also targeting 3 of the most unreached
people in the world, who are located in the borders of Greece,
Bulgaria, and Turkey known as the Thracian Muslims, the Vlachos, and
the Pomachs.
The Bible exhorts us to “Rejoice with them that rejoice and weep
with them that weep.” There will be moments of tears as we will
leave loved ones here in U.S., while experiencing joy in uniting
with our spiritual family in Athens. It is of a vital importance to
unite our hearts in prayer, for there is power in prayer, in order
to fulfill the Great Commission together.
