Dear
Pastors, Prayer Partners, Family & Friends,
We pray that you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking
forward to what God has for you in 2010! We thoroughly enjoyed
getting to be with Kim’s family for Christmas and were blessed
with a White Christmas this year! As a matter of fact, we were
greeted by a big snow storm upon our arrival to the states, left
the states in a snow storm, landed in snow in the UK, and it is
snowing outside as we write this letter – so much for global
warming!!! Our two younger daughters have thoroughly enjoyed it
– especially the snow days out of school!! This is the most
snow they can ever remember and they just can’t get enough of
building snowmen, sledging (as they call it out here), snowball
fights, etc.
Your prayers for our “Carols by Candlelight” Service were felt
and appreciated. Mark Young, our Associate Pastor, said that,
once again, Libanus Baptist Church was full, that the service
went very well, and those that attended were blessed! Thanks
also for your prayers for Bethany & Micah’s wedding. The Lord
blessed with a beautiful, sunshiny day that really helped to
make the occasion even more special. Please continue to pray
for Bethany and Micah as they seek God’s direction for their
lives. Beth has one more semester at BBC and then they will be
watching to see where God leads.
It was good to see our sons, Troy and Drew, while we were back.
Troy has returned back to Lynchburg, VA where he will be doing
some demolition work and continue ministering to the homeless.
Drew has returned to Boston Baptist College. Please continue
praying for our sons as they discern God’s plan and direction
for their lives.
As we’ve mentioned before, we will be going back to the states
for our first big furlough in May. We really covet your prayers
as we prepare for this phase in our ministry. Some specific
things to pray for are: DVD for church presentations, prayer
cards, paper work and details for Greg and Collene Kent who are
coming to help support Libanus Baptist while we are on furlough,
packing and preparations for our time away, for our two youngest
daughter’s as they make this transition, for the dear people
that we minister with and to here in Llanfairfechan, for us as
we prepare to share our ministry in Wales to our supporting
churches, and for those that we will be sharing with while we
are on furlough, that God will prepare their hearts to be open
to what God may be calling them to do. There is much to be done
in these coming months, besides our normal ministry, and we pray
that you will keep us uplifted during this time.
Kim will be starting a new ladies’ Bible study the end
of this month. It will be a little more intense and require a
little more study than what they’ve done in the past and she
would appreciate your prayers for her as she leads it, and for
the ladies that will be participating that they will be
committed to putting the time and effort into this study. We
really desire to see growth in our folks and we’re praying that
they will take advantage of these opportunities to help them.
One additional item for prayer, is that we can apply for a
permanent resident visa in February. It is costly and time
consuming but if we could get this done it would reassure the
folks that we minister to, that our hearts are in Wales. (But
most of all it is because we want to be here, God has placed it
in our hearts to be here in Wales)
We are so grateful to your past faithfulness and look forward to
this new year and what God has in store for us to experience,
learn, and grow from. We appreciate your support to our family
and ministry!
In His
Service,
Kevin & Kim
