Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners, Family & Friends,
We are sorry that this letter is later than usual, but we wanted
to be able to report to you the progress of work being done on
our chapel. We had two retired couples that are part of the BBFI
Builders come and spend the last three weeks helping us. They
worked very hard by completely paving the back garden with
paving stones, repairing window casings, scraping paint, filling
holes, and preparing the walls of one of our Sunday School rooms
that needs to be painted. We also were able to go in and clean
out and organize a large storage space, dismantle and remove an
old piano, as well as, some overall clearing out of unnecessary
clutter. We want to thank Bill & Pat Vandever, and Ron & Judy
Ellis from Southside Baptist Church in Denison, TX for their
sacrifice of time and finances to come and help us with these
needed repairs. Doing work on these old chapels is very
different from working on buildings in the states and can be
very tedious and time consuming. Also, the guttering has been
completed on one side of the church and the other side will be
completed soon. There is still much work to be done and we are
hoping to have more help from other groups that can come and
help with much needed repairs and renovations.
Many outreach opportunities are coming up for Libanus Baptist
Church. Please pray for the unsaved family and friends that will
be attending an upcoming wedding, the baptism of one of our
ladies, our Christmas Dinners, and our Carols by Candlelight
service held on Christmas Eve. Many of those that attend these
services will be either attending for the first time or this is
the only time that they attend throughout the year. Our Harvest
Dinner was well attended and we had several new and unsaved
visitors. One of the couples was our neighbors, Terry and Judith
Cross. Terry has been helping out a lot with the work on the
church, but has been hesitant to come to a service. However,
when we asked him to the Harvest Dinner as our guest in
appreciation for all his help, he accepted. He and Judith said
that they really enjoyed the dinner and Judith has said that she
will definitely come to one of our Sunday services. She hasn’t
come yet, but we are still praying that she and Terry will one
day come and ultimately receive Christ as their Saviour.
We are very excited about the upcoming holidays and are looking
forward to having Troy and Bethany join us for Christmas from
the states. If any of you are able to help with the expenses of
their tickets, it would be much appreciated. When Bethany goes
back to the states after Christmas, she will begin attending
Baptist Bible College. Please pray for Bethany as she makes this
transition, for Troy as he continues his education, and for Drew
as he applies to get into the International Baccalaureate
program here in Wales. Lindsay and Chloe are doing well and
really have a British accent!
We pray that you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Blessed
Christmas and are able to enjoy some quality time with your
family and friends, as well as, reflect on the wondrous birth of
our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! God’s richest blessings upon
you during this holiday season!!!
In His Service,
Kevin & Kim Davis
