Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners, Family & Friends,

School is back into full swing, the days are getting shorter, and there is a noticeable chill in theair – summer is over! Even though our summer weather this year was very disappointing with only a couple days hitting in the 70’s, we are praising the Lord for the work accomplished this summer! A team from our church traveled to London to help set up and work in a Holiday Bible Club for a week in July. There were 150 children and teens that attended the club; many of them were Muslims! This group came back very excited and has encouraged us to do a Holiday Bible Club here in Llanfairfechan in the summer of 2008! This will be the first time that Libanus Baptist has done anything like this! At Senior Camp, we had 14 young people that made professions of faith (two of which were teens that came with our church), and at Junior Camp, there were 10 professions of faith! After camp, one of our teens spent two weeks doing Beach Missions here in the UK. After showing pictures and giving testimony of her experience, several of our teens have expressed an interest in being involved in beach missions next summer! We are excited to see that our children, teens, and young adults are not only growing in numbers, but also in their desire to serve!

We will be having another Baptismal Service the first of October to baptize the teens that were saved at camp, as well as, one of the women that got saved right before we left for furlough. These services are always a good opportunity for the unsaved family members that attend to hear the gospel. Please be in prayer for this upcoming service and for those being baptized as they take this important first step of obedience. Two of those being baptized are already being discipled and have been such an encouragement as we see them make wise decisions and grow in their faith!

Besides the spiritual work that has been accomplished, we are working on the physical building and property, as well. We’ve been clearing out the back garden and will be laying patio stone so that it can be used for fellowships and also provide a safe place for our children to play after Sunday morning service. Everything is in order to take out and replace the old guttering which will help take care of some of the dampness problem that we have, and we will be doing some major rearranging of Sunday School classrooms to accommodate our growing number of children and teens. This will involve some repairs, as well as, a lot of painting. There are also plans to do some major renovations in the sanctuary so that we can utilize our facility for various functions and not have to always rent the town hall for church dinners and teen outreach. Please pray for guidance, wisdom, and the physical and financial means to make our church more functional. As most of you know, our church is an old 1800’s Revival Chapel which creates many challenges as we endeavor to make repairs and the necessary changes to meet the needs of our growing ministry!

We so appreciate your faithful prayers, financial support, and sacrificial gifts! There are times that we get down and are discouraged, but then God reminds us of all of you that are praying for us and counting on us to represent you here, and we are able to keep going. That is our prayer for you also – “that you not grow weary in well doing” – for God promises that we shall reap the fruit of our labors!

In His Service,

Kevin & Kim Davis
