Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners, Family & Friends,

Happy New Year!! We’re sure that you, like us, are in awe that another whole year has passed and we find ourselves wondering what God has for us to learn and experience in this brand new year. As we look back on 2007, we are thankful for those that have been saved, baptized, and have begun their walk as disciples of Christ. That’s what it’s all about – sharing the gospel and then being able to rejoice when people respond to God’s Word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. During the Christmas season we had two children make professions of faith. One was the brother of one of our teenage girls who had the privilege of leading her brother to Christ; and the other was a school friend of our daughter, Lindsay. Please pray that Joe and Sophie will continue to come to church so they can continue to learn God’s Word and grow in their relationship with Christ.

We passed out over 1,100 flyers inviting the people of Llanfairfechan to attend our “Carols by Candlelight” Service on Christmas Eve. At 7:15 pm, the night of the service, we were all quite discouraged by how few people were there, but by 7:30, when the service began, we had a packed house! Many of those who attend on Christmas Eve, only attend church this one time the whole year, so we made sure that the gospel was presented very clearly. It was a lovely service and it is our prayer that the seed that was sown will bring forth fruit during this year. The Christmas Dinners, baptism, and wedding that we had during the Christmas season were all well attended also, and we ask that you continue to pray for the unsaved and unchurched family and friends that were at each of these gatherings.

We would like to update you on Mark, the young man who leads our teens. As you know, he oversaw the ministry of Libanus Baptist while we were on furlough and has since felt a call to preach. Mark had applied to the Irish Baptist College in Belfast, Ireland and has been accepted and began his coursework toward a Masters in Theology degree this past week. Mark is very excited about this step forward and is grateful for this opportunity. This will demand a great deal of time and discipline upon Mark. He quit his full-time job and has been doing supply work (substitute teaching) in several schools. The church has continued to partially support Mark as much as they are able so that he can devote more time to the Youth Ministry, as well as, occasionally preach. However, now that he is studying for his Theology degree as well, he will not be able to work as much. Please pray that God will provide the funds that he and his wife will need, as well as, the physical, mental, and spiritual strength he will need during this demanding time. We would also ask you to pray for Tom Jones. He has decided to quit Bible College for the time being and to work on getting more qualifications for his Forestry trade. Please pray that he will continue to walk with the Lord and that he will be obedient to God’s plan and not lean on his own understanding. We love these two young men and pray God’s protection upon them for we know that Satan would love to discourage, distract, and destroy them.

Next month marks our third anniversary here in North Wales! We are humbled by God’s grace and faithfulness that allows us to serve here, and we are grateful for your willingness to be a vessel through whom he works to keep us here. God’s richest blessings upon you in 2008!

In His Service,

Kevin & Kim Davis
