Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners, Family & Friends,

Our last prayer letter ended by asking you to pray for the Holiday Bible Club scheduled for the end of October.  We are happy to report that it went very well!  We did not have the 50 that we had hoped for, but were very pleased that 24 – 27 children attended each day.  We also held a Family Fun Night the evening of our last day.  It was well attended and the children and their families really enjoyed the games and getting to experience a little bit of what had gone on during the Holiday Bible Club.  Kevin and Mark had the opportunity of speaking in Assembly at both of the village schools promoting our Holiday Bible Club, as well as, sharing the story of Gideon.  They were well received at both of the schools and are praying that they will be invited back to speak again.  As we’ve made calls to follow-up this event, we’ve had all positive responses and have been asked to do it again next year.  Several of the children have expressed an interest in attending our Sunday School and it’s our prayer that we will then be able to have an influence in their family.

We are very grateful for how the people of our church got involved in this endeavor and gave of their time and talents to serve the Lord and the children of our village.   It’s been encouraging to hear how the people of Llanfairfechan are talking about the Holiday Bible Club and what a good time it was for their children and how those that didn’t participate are sorry that they didn’t.  They were all quite anxious about it, but are now encouraged and looking forward to next year!  Thanks so much for your prayers, they were very much appreciated and needed as our church and village dealt with a sad event just days before our Holiday Bible Club.

On October 26th, a young man that had visited our church and participated in our teen services and outreach on Friday evenings, suddenly died in his sleep at the age of 19.  Nelson was quite outspoken about being an atheist/humanist, but he was obviously searching.  We had been praying for Nelson since Good Friday because he had attended our service and afterwards approached Kevin about “needing to know where to find the sinner’s prayer”.  Kevin took him through the plan of salvation, but Nelson became uncomfortable and said that he would have to think about what he’d been shown.  He came back the next week and said he “had just been a little emotional” and was holding to his beliefs.  However, he continued to participate in our teen activities. In fact, just the week before he died, he attended a Creation talk by John Mackay with our teens and came home quite agitated that Mackay had been able to answer his questions and refute his beliefs.  That evening we lifted Nelson up in prayer in hopes that he would see the Truth.  Our son, Drew, was friends with Nelson and rode the bus with him every morning to college.  He was very burdened for Nelson and was devastated when he heard of Nelson’s death.  We can only hope that Nelson received the Truth that had been shared with him several times and made a decision for Christ before He passed into eternity.  His sudden death has reminded us of the urgency to share the gospel, and we pray that it will be used to glorify God and shake people out of their complacency and false sense of security.

It’s hard to believe that it is only 6 weeks until Christmas!  We are so looking forward to having Troy and Bethany home for the Holidays and our family being altogether again!!!  If you are able to help us with the expense of their plane tickets, we would really appreciate it.  Having the kids all home is the one thing Kim asks for Christmas and we’ve been amazed how God always seems to provide!  Please be in prayer for all of our upcoming Christmas outreaches, especially our Christmas Eve Carol Service!  Enjoy the Holidays!

In His Service,

Kevin & Kim Davis
