January, 2007
Dear Friends,
Each New Year’s Eve is a special time in Austria. This year was no
exception. Austrians celebrate the arrival of the New Year with a
tradition of fireworks. When darkness sets in, fireworks can be heard
and seen everywhere. At the stroke of midnight the finale begins and
lasts for 30 to 45 minutes. There is a constant wave of noise and light.
From our house we can see much of the valley that lies between us and
the beginning of the Alps in the distance. The entire valley lights up
and temporarily overtakes the darkness. Our prayer for Austria this year
is that God will allow us to bring light to the spiritually dark valleys
of Austria. We appreciate your prayers with us in our endeavors.
When we were preparing to move to Austria several years ago, many people
told us ministry would be slow. We were told it could take years to
establish a church as few people would embrace the Gospel. We have found
these facts to be true but are excited about what God is doing and will
do in 2007 and know that He is quite capable of bringing individuals to
Him. We look forward with anticipation toward this year as being our
most productive year. We are praying that God will provide us with a
more permanent facility in which we can meet more than one time each
week. We are praying that God will give us individuals to hear the
Gospel and respond. We are praying for families to join us in our
efforts of sharing the Good News here in Austria. We appreciate your
prayers and may God bless us all with a prosperous 2007 in ministry!
