The Bakers arrived in England June 1997 to work alongside a British national pastor. The reason for this is to learn how to minister in the British culture. The church that the Bakers are serving in now is located in a town called Bromley, a borough of London, located about 15 miles southeast of center city London.

Every nine days a Baptist church in England closes its doors. There are presently hundreds of churches in the United Kingdom that are without a pastor. Many of these have just four or five members left.

The Bakers hope to take one of these struggling works and, with God's help, build it up to a thriving, evangelistic, indigenous work. Steve and Ally are prepared to train young men and women to do the work.

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." II Timothy 2:2

The Bakers have two great sending churches that are very excited about what God is doing through them in England:

Central Baptist Church
Kenneth Rhoades, pastor
Sulphur Springs, Texas
South Side Baptist Church
Bud Everett, pastor
Springfield, Missouri
