Trusting God When Things Go Wrong

Here is a run-down of our last couple of months:

  • The week of Easter, we say yes to an apartment

  • Discover we need a financial guarantee of 6-12 months worth of rent up front. Find out said guarantee is required with most other agencies as well.

  • Obtained loan from the States for financial guarantee

  • Problems with the French bank cause the owner of the apartment to change his insurance. New insurance requires two co-signers

  • We find two co-signers and wait for them to fill out all of the necessary paperwork. Few days later, one of the co-signers has to back out

  • We find a new co-signer and submit all the paperwork the day before we have to move out of our own rental house

  • We move out, put all our things in storage, and stay with friends. Should be able to move into new place soon.

  • Owner changes his mind and rents to someone else.

  • We are officially “homeless”. We wait and pray for something new to become available.

In the meantime….

  • Lord provides a 2004 Opel mini-van with low-mileage, in good condition at a good price

  • Lance gets in a car accident with our little red car. No one is hurt, but the car is totaled.

Though it has been a very stressful & discouraging time for us, we are learning to trust in God and keep pressing on. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement as we learn to lean on Him and trust His provision.

Trusting in Him,
Lance, Amy, Kirianna & Aliyah Auterson
