Summer 2010

Whether we like it or not, whether we understand it or not, change is a fact of life. Sometimes it’s necessary and well planned. Sometimes change arrives uninvited and is resisted all the way to the grave. Other times, change is gradual, yet it ultimately can radically alter a landscape. This is where the Auterson family finds itself today, looking at a landscape that has greatly shifted.

When we moved to the Val d’Europe community 2 years ago to start a church, we were excited about the numerous doors that God was opening before us. One of the promising doors was the door of partnership. God led us to a local Christian family with a heart for ministry and a deep passion to see a church planted here in the Val d’Europe community. To top it all off, the Baptist church they were members of, were extremely excited about partnering with us to see a lighthouse of God’s grace developed here in this needy area.

God undeniably blessed our early efforts and we have witnessed some amazing victories in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, (you guessed it) things change. Those early doors of partnership that God opened for us have now been shut. Major incompatibilities and differences of vision have led to major changes needing to be made to the Val d’Europe church plant project. Unfortunately this will require our leaving the project and in all likelihood this area as well.

Relationship failure is never pleasant and this situation has left us with a great many questions for which we don‘t have answers. However, God is faithful and His grace is seeing us through. Please pray for us as we seek God’s will concerning the next step in our ministry here in France.

Your servants in France,

Lance, Amy, Kirianna, Aliyah and “Baby Boy”
